Compliance training
Bloodborne pathogens training for your staff.
Harvest customers get bloodborne pathogens training, along with OSHA and HIPAA courses, in the same client portal as their pickup records and invoices. It comes with your medical waste service.
What OSHA requires
OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard requires employers to train every employee who could be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials on the job. Training happens when someone is first assigned to that work and at least once a year after that. It has to be free to the employee and given during working hours, and training records are kept for three years.
The standard also requires a chance to ask questions of the person conducting the training, so plan for that alongside any online course.
How it works with Harvest
- Your staff log in to your client portal, the same one that holds your manifests and invoices.
- They take short, self-paced video lessons. Each lesson ends with a quiz.
- Each year after, there is a refresher. The shorter Bloodborne Pathogens Refresher course is built for the yearly training.
Courses for medical offices
Bloodborne pathogens training is one of more than 35 courses in the portal. The ones medical and dental offices use most:
- Bloodborne Pathogens for Healthcare, and the Bloodborne Pathogens Refresher
- Sharps Safety, and Preventing Needlesticks and Other Sharps Injuries
- Healthcare Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Hand Hygiene, and Introduction to Infection Control
- Medical Waste Handling and Segregation for Healthcare
- HIPAA, HITECH, and the Omnibus Final Rule
- Hazard Communication Standard/GHS
- Ergonomics and Injury Prevention for Dental Practices
